Mold Damage Restoration

Restoring a building to its original condition after treating/remediating a mold problem can be a tedious project.

When mold damage appears inside a building, the underlying reason is almost always water intrusion or excessive moisture. This could be due to a water leak in the foundation or plumbing system, or from excessive humidity and temperature variations from inside to outside of the home. The first step in preventing future mold growth is to find and provide a solution for the water/moisture intrusion. This will also help ensure that mold does not return after it has been remediated.

Some mold conditions can be treated successfully with microbial cleaners and disinfectants, but more serious mold conditions may require removal of damaged building materials. This may include removing walls, ceiling, flooring, insulation, fixed cabinetry, trim boards and whatever else may have water/mold damage. For example, proper treatment of a finished basement with a serious mold problem may a total or partial removal of the finished basement area.
